Parentline is a statewide telephone counselling, information and referral service for parents and carers of children aged 0-18 years. Nearly a third of the calls received relate to adolescents. Professional counsellors discuss with parents a diverse range of adolescent topics ranging from normal adolescent development and friendship issues to challenging or risk-taking behaviours, depression and school bullying. Regional Parenting Services
Regional Parenting Services (RPS) provide information, advice and education to parents and professionals on a wide range of parenting issues. Services are located in each of the eight DHS regions (two in the North and West Metropolitan Region) and the phones are staffed by experienced parent educators.
